Relational Trajectories

Relational Trajectories is a Research project by Cecilia Roos.

The main focus is on investigating the ways in which the dancer uses different perspectives on a material in an artistic process and how they develop methods to develop the process. The material can consist of movement, text, speech, music, objects, etc. This is explored, among other things, in the project “Things that must be done” by performance artist Eleonora Fabiao in which Roos participates. Flexibility, creativity and adaptability are key words and it is clear that the consequences of how methods are shared and transformed are at the heart of an artistic process.

Aim and research questions

The project aims to explore and elucidate the dialogue and interaction, the relational trajectories, that take place between dancers/performers/participants in performative practices of today. What kind of procedures lies behind the instant creation of methods and what kind of experience and skill is needed from the performer to be able to contribute in that process? In what ways are these methods shared, transformed and transacted during a working process?

Research implementation and anticipated impact

The project is carried out through dialog with professional practitioners in the field of dance

Research funding

Stockholm University of the Arts

Schedule

The project is carried out through 2015
