”Ear close to mouth – conversations between film and philosophy” by Marius Dybwad Brandrud
Goal & purpose
The project concerns cinematic subjectivity behind and in front of the camera and screen. Departing from a critique of representation, the project is searching for a cinematic practice guided by non-unitary conceptions of subjectivity. The ambition is to investigate notions of responsibility in and through documentary processes of filmmaking.
Research questions
What is it to make an image of someone? How does a cinematic subject come into being?
What does responsibility in a documentary film process mean?
This is how the research will be carried out
The research will be conducted by filmic means in dialogue with philosophy and film theory.
Schedule
