Jenny Sunesson

Jenny Sunesson (b. 1973) is a Swedish artist operating within the overlaps of art, research, pedagogy and remix culture.

Jenny specialises in sound, its materialities and political potentials, which are examined via field recording and participatory projects, installations, live collages, and video. She often explores auto ethnography, and site-specific modes to examine cultures, ecologies and histories via its exclusions. Sonic traces, interviews and digital fragments are re-configured into worlds where alternate speculations of political tendencies and fictions may be explored.
 
Jenny has represented Sweden’s sound art scene internationally several times. Her works have been shown at institutions such as Konsthall C, Stockholm, Röhsska Design Museum, Göteborg, Konstakakademin, Stockholm, Kulturhuset, Stockholm, Kalmar konstmuseum, Uppsala Konstmuseum, Fylkingen, Stockholm, Ausland, Berlin, ISSUE Project Room, New York, KUMU Museum of Modern Art, Tallinn, Moderna Muséet Malmö och Moderna Muséet, Stockholm.

She has previously worked as an assistant professor in Sonic practice at SKH.
