Erik Åbergs 80% seminar
This PhD project bridges the disciplines of circus, juggling, and sculpture to engage with history, its artists, and their practices. By drawing from archives of 19th-century newspapers, it uncovers and interprets the historical events and world occurrences that intersect with the lives and activities of circus performers, jugglers, and other practitioners. These historical engagements inform a methodology of creative historiography, where embodied knowledge from circus and sculpture is used to interact with and reimagine archival material. The seminar is part of Erik’s ongoing PhD project, ‘Networks of Emergence’.
