In a small village in Jämtland in the northern part of Sweden, a group of compassionate social workers set out to create a welfare-state utopia.
It's the 1970s, and through confrontational therapy and ”total democracy”, they aim to cure drug addiction and build a new, resilient citizen of the future.
This is where Leffe comes in – a kind-hearted small-time criminal who’s on the verge of going under as a junkie in Stockholm, but instead is saved and resurrected in the woods.
Anything seems possible in this progressive paradise. But underneath the utopian dreams, a darker power-play lingers.
