Performing Arts & Revolution – Woman, Life, Freedom

An event created by our students in Production Management Atoosa Farahmand and Venessa Koohnavard.

"We want to draw attention to the situation in Iran with an evening where we use our collective creativity and raise our voices in support of the people of Iran."

The evening's programme includes singing, poetry, a film screening and a panel discussion highlighting the revolution in Iran. Afterwards, there will be refreshments and mingling.

On September 16, 2022, a 22-year-old Kurdish woman, Mahsa Jîna Amini, was brutally killed by "morality police" in Iran for showing some of her hair, and not following the strict dress code laws.The murder of Mahsa Jîna Amini has sparked a revolution and the people of Iran stand up against the totalitarian regime and shout the Kurdish slogan "Jin jyan azadi'' which means "woman, life, freedom".
