Marc Johnson: 50% seminar
This seminar invites you to explore the documented artistic research project by Marc Johnson, which challenges traditional power structures in archives and museums. Inspired by Marcel Broodthaers' political and artistic parodies, Johnson's project aims to disrupt conventional systems of control and create alternative ways to preserve and share narratives. The seminar will discuss methods of self-archiving and the importance of restorative justice in addressing historical silences. Participants will examine the online catalogue raisonné as a tool for empowering marginalized voices and promoting more inclusive historical records. The seminar encourages critical thinking about power dynamics in institutions and the role of artists in challenging them.
