VIS-release at The Swedish History Museum
VIS, Nordic Journal for Artistic Research, presents issue 3 "History Now" (editor Magnus Bärtås) at The Swedish History Museum in Stockholm. The issue contains 8 expositions where artistic practice addresses the manifestations of history in the present. We encounter staging and adaptations of historical material through performance, dance, film, visual arts and music. Several of the artists in the issue contribute with live performances and presentations.
Contributions in History Now:
Behzad Khosravi Noori – The Life of an Itinerant through a Pinhole
Marianna Christofides – Days In Between
Mareike Dobewall – Demmin, letting a city sound
Otto Ramstad – Lineage
Tina Carlsson – Jag vet hur folkhemmet luktar
Björn Larsson, Carl Johan Erikson – Allvarlig personlig övertygelse, om mätningar av samvetet
Eivind Buene – Telescopic Listening
Jostein Gundersen, Ruben Sverre Gjertsen, Alwynne Pritchard – Mouvance. Approaches to re-enacting historical music
During this evening, the exhibition "History unfolds – en reflektion" will be open. The exhibition presents selected objects from the museum's collections, and highlights stories and perspectives that were not previously prominent.
