Welcome to the Start of the autumn term at SKH, a week filed with activities starting 2 September 2024.

Start of the autumn term 2024 runs throughout the whole first week to accommodate festivities, meeting your fellow students, teachers and staff. You will also receive important information so that you can find your way around SKH when your program or course starts. Here you can see the schedule for the whole week's joint events. 

NOTE! You will receive your own education schedule directly from your subject unit.

Monday 2 September

What: Welcome ceremony 14:00-16:00 
Where: SKH, Valhallavägen 189
For whom: All students and staff are welcome!

Schedule

  • 13.30 Check-in
  • 14:00 Welcome speech by Ellen Røed, Vice-Chancellor and Florimond Dumas, alumni Cirkus.
  • 14:15 Find your group/room
  • 14:15–15:30 Individual program in four different Studios (15 minutes/ room with 10 minutes breaks between each session)
  • 15:30 Mingle, Photo-booth
  • 16:00 Closing of the event with light refreshments

Workshop with Pernilla Glaser: Being you with others – on how we make knowledge togetherhttps://www.uniarts.se/folk/medarbetare/rebecca-hilton/

In this workshop we explore collaborative communication in creative practices. How do we take care of ourselves and each other when thinking and making art? How can we make space for different ways of communicating and why is do we get smarter in a group? 

Pernilla Glaser is a coach and therapist with a background as theater director, and a long experience of teaching in artistic educations and working with teachers and facilitators to develop pedagogy tools.

Lecture with Anna Adeniji: Racism, equality, representation and the arts

Anna Adeniji is a consultant, Educator and PhD in Gender Studies.

Lecture with Rebecca Hilton: Being an art person in and for the twenty first century: notes on art, artistic practice, artistic research, and art school 

Rebecca Hilton is Professor in Choreography for the profile area Site Event Encounter at Stockholm University of the Arts where she is currently acting head of research.
