Performance lecture: Clouds by Anna Heymowska

The lecture is part of Anna's research and will address issues of theatre and scenography in relation to climate philosophy, among other things.

Some say we see nature as a scenography; how does scenography see nature? From the baroque back-drop to the spatial agent of smoke. Holy, opaque, toxic and surprisingly entwined with us through each breath. 

In a scenic talk Anna Heymowska offers an unveiling of theatre making and scenography through the idea of the cloud. How can we as artists understand the climate crisis aesthetically, relationally and emotionally? 

Anna Heymowska is an artist, scenographer and PhD student at Stockholm University of the Arts. Her work and research focus on a personal exploration of the artistic and aesthetical challenges in the age of climate change. This performance lecture is part of her ongoing artistic research. 

The lecture is followed by a discussion with Anna Sobek (Professor Environmental Chemistry and Prefect at the Institution for Environmental Science at Stockholm university) and Jonas Bylund (Resarcher at Urbana and regional studies at Kungliga tekniska högskolan).
