Mime duets at GBG Mime Fest
During their first year on the Bachelor's programme Mime Acting, the students worked on short acts in which they explored the conditions of mime in creating a sequence of events. The acts emerged from the encounter between the students’ creativity and the basic concepts of mime technique and got specifics both by the students’ different personalities and previous educational experiences.
Relationship as a theme is present in one way or another when a sequence of events is created by two. Abstract is mixed with concrete, profound questions with entertainment, virtuosity with sensitivity; the focus is on experimentation in movement.
Now in their second year they are performing the duets at GBG Mime Fest. The festival offers high-quality live performances within the expression of mime along with workshops, master classes and academic talks within theatre and mime. The festival aims to push the boundaries of what mime is and can be in the 21st century by inviting established and emerging artists to share their work with a wider audience. In addition to stage performances the festival presents installations, shorter acts and music acts.
Each act by the SKH mime students is around 10 minutes long.
