Application and admission
Where do I apply?
At SKH we use two different systems for the admission process. This is because work samples are included in the application for many of our programmes and courses. To see what applies to the particular programme or course you are interested in, read the information on the education page. The admission process may differ between different programmes and courses.
universityadmission.se – We are connected to universityadmission.se. This means that you submit an application for the program or course you want to apply for via their website.
Varbi – We use Varbi to collect work samples for the admission process for most of our programs and courses. Read more on the specific education page to see what applies to the particular program or course you are interested in. A link to the Varbi application page can also be found on the education page.
When should I apply?
Since our programmes and courses are mainly artistic, we have different application periods than most universities and colleges. The dates may differ slightly from year to year even if the periods are at the same time of year. Therefore, make sure to always check which dates apply for the year you intend to apply.
Current application periods for courses:
Independent courses VT2025: application period 15 September–15 October

International Master programmes HT2025: application period 15 November 2024–15 January 2025 (This period is for some of the Master programmes taught in English. See the specific education page for more information).

Entry requirements
You need to show that you are eligible (meet the entry requirements) when you apply. It means that you must have a certain level of knowledge in order to successfully complete the educational programme.
Tuition Fees and Scholarships
If you are a citizen of an EU or EEA country or Switzerland you do not have to pay an application fee or a tuition fee to SKH.
Recognition of prior learning
This is how Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) assesses prior learning and requests for exemption for programmes and courses.
Targeted study support
At SKH, everyone should be able to study on equal terms and have the same opportunities to conduct their studies regardless of functional variation. If you as a student have a functional variation that affects your ability to study, you are entitled to targeted study support.
Exchange studies and traineeships
Erasmus+ allows students and PhD students to undertake international exchanges in different countries.
