Bachelor Programme in Film and Media
We educate the storytellers of the future who can contribute to the development of society, take their place and acquire a profession within a field in constant change. Develop artistic force, initiative and courage, learn entrepreneurial skills and build a network for life!
The Bachelor Programme in Film and Media is a collaborative, co-creative, team-based education. Through documentary storytelling, fiction, animation and immersive media production, you will develop your artistic skills in collaboration between sound, cinematography, production design, editing, production, directing and scripting.
Together we form a dynamic environment with theoretical teaching, practical lab courses and joint idea formation as a starting point. Within your specialization there are opportunities for international exchanges.
Relating to and meeting an audience is part of the education and through various forms of distribution you reach more groups in society. Accessibility is important for your stories to reach audiences in listening rooms, movie theaters or on platforms such as Extended Reality (XR).
We also explore the ethical, aesthetic, social and political implications of AI (artificial intelligence). A Bachelor's degree lays the foundation for lifelong learning!
Bachelor Specialisation in Editing
An editor is involved in the selection and editing of recorded material. It is in the editing that the final story is shaped, and editing is primarily about describing environments, people and their emotions. You should be able to both empathise with the story being told and critically assess the recorded material, and have the ability to hold the production together through all the choices.
You will practice managing professional workflows and programmes, acquire basic knowledge of the mechanics of film editing, dramaturgy and script analysis, and reflect on your own editing methodology. As a student on the programme, you will collaborate a lot with others. You will also need to take responsibility for your own knowledge development and personal artistic growth.
The profession of film editor is highly creative and requires artistic sensitivity and analytical acuity, as well as musicality, a sense of rhythm and the flow of sound and images. A filmmaker also needs good teamwork skills and works closely with, for example, the film's director and producer. The workplace may be a television or film production company.
