Bachelor Programme in Film and Media
We educate the storytellers of the future who can contribute to the development of society, take their place and acquire a profession within a field in constant change. Develop artistic force, initiative and courage, learn entrepreneurial skills and build a network for life!
The Bachelor Programme in Film and Media is a collaborative, co-creative, team-based education. Through documentary storytelling, fiction, animation and immersive media production, you will develop your artistic skills in collaboration between sound, cinematography, production design, editing, production, directing and scripting.
Together we form a dynamic environment with theoretical teaching, practical lab courses and joint idea formation as a starting point. Within your specialization there are opportunities for international exchanges.
Relating to and meeting an audience is part of the education and through various forms of distribution you reach more groups in society. Accessibility is important for your stories to reach audiences in listening rooms, movie theaters or on platforms such as Extended Reality (XR).
We also explore the ethical, aesthetic, social and political implications of AI (artificial intelligence). A Bachelor's degree lays the foundation for lifelong learning!
Bachelor Specialisation Cinematography
As a student in the specialisation Cinematography, you will acquire basic knowledge to create a broad base for work as a cinematographer. You will also develop skills to work as a cinematographer, camera operator, second unit and to shoot documentary and short films and TV reports – both in production and in pre- and post-production.
Film and media are an important part of people's everyday lives and also influence societal development through their unique ability to reach and communicate with large audiences. Digital developments have made the technology to produce film and media accessible to many. There are also an increasing number of platforms for film and media: cinema, television, internet, radio, as well as immersive media production (which is a complex form of storytelling where many different artistic expressions such as sound, light, images, words, scenery, acting and music come together to create an experience).
Filmmakers and media productions are created in collaboration between practitioners with their own artistic voices, different craft skills and artistic expressions. The Bachelor's programme in Film and Media is a first cycle programme and a place for you to start developing an artistry in the mediated field, with the story in focus.
