Widening participation
In SKH's strategic plan for 2024–2027, one goal is for SKH to promote high quality in education by offering an attractive learning environment characterised by excellence where student input and influence, different skills and backgrounds are valued.
For SKH, widened participation is about ensuring equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of background, to participate in artistic education. It promotes democracy, equal opportunity and quality enhancement. By reflecting the diversity of society, it creates a representative and inclusive study environment that expands the perspectives at SKH. It also ensures that no talents are overlooked due to inequitable conditions. Transparent and fair entrance examinations as a selection criterium are primary in this work. SKH believes that widening participation contributes to higher quality and relevance in education and, by extension, to a more sustainable democratic society and a more vital cultural sector.

Meet us
For those interested in learning more about what we do at SKH, there are several options available. These include open houses, research events, open lectures, and student presentations, such as performances and film screenings.
Recognition of prior learning
This is how Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) assesses prior learning and requests for exemption for programmes and courses.
Validation of prior learning - third-cycle level
If you do not have the formal qualifications or grades to meet general entry requirements, you can apply for a validation of prior learning.
Targeted study support
At SKH, everyone should be able to study on equal terms and have the same opportunities to conduct their studies regardless of functional variation. If you as a student have a functional variation that affects your ability to study, you are entitled to targeted study support.
Equal terms
Our vision is to be a non-discriminatory workplace and study place where people meet on equal terms and where our activities are characterised by openness.
