International networks

International networks

Stockholm University of the Arts cooperates with other organisations within several international networks.

Some of SKH's cooperation takes place within the framework of national or international programmes financed through the Swedish Council for Higher Education. You can read more about the programmes: Erasmus + and Nordplus at the council's website utbyten.se.

European League of Institutes of Arts (ELIA)
The European League of Institutes of the Arts - ELIA is the primary independent network organisation for higher arts education. With around 300 members in 47 countries, it represents some 300,000 students in all art disciplines. ELIA advocates for the arts on the European level, creating new opportunities for its members and facilitating the exchange of best practices.

NORTEAS
NORTEAS is a Nordplus network for theatre and dance institutions in the Nordic and Baltic area of higher education. The network is a platform for the most current ideas and practices within the field of performing arts. NORTEA focus on sharing about our everyday life, but through the exchange of knowledge, experience and visions on contemporary performing arts and education, NORTEA seek innovation and new approaches. NORTEAS network consists of 15 universities from Nordic and Baltic countries and has a rotating responsibility for coordination where each institution leads the network for two years.

Society for Artistic Research (SAR)
The Society for Artistic Research (SAR) is a non-profit organization that nurtures, connects and disseminates artistic research as specific practices of creating knowledge and insight. SAR facilitates a range of encounters for its community of artistic practitioners in the pursuit of transformative understanding that impacts on political and societal processes as well as on cultures of research and learning.
SAR has an international membership drawn from individual artists, as well as academic and non-academic institutions.

daCi is a non-profit organisation with the aim of contributing to the growth and development of dance for children on an international basis.

Dance in Education Nordic Network (DENN) 
DENN is a Nordic network for recess in dance education.

Fédération Européenne des Ecoles de Cirque Professionnelles (FEDEC)
FEDEC is a European and international network for training in the circus.

Explorations and Collaborations in the Arts/The ECA Network (ECA)
The NORDPLUS Explorations and Collaborations in the Arts / The ECA Network is dedicated to developing innovative cross/interdisciplinary course curricula between various university level art education programs. This network, originally focused upon the specific relationship between dance and music, was created by the founding partners in 2004.

Nordic Forum for Dance Research (NOFOD)
NOFOD is a nonprofit organisation that promotes cooperation between dance researchers and practitioners.

World Dance Alliance (WDA)
WDA is an international organisation with the aim to disseminate information and share experiences on dance.


Opera (former University College of Opera)

AEC
The Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen (AEC) is a European cultural and educational network with around 300 member institutions for professional music training in 57 countries.
University College of Opera are members of this network.

ANMA
The Association of Nordic Music Academies, ANMA, promotes through collaboration high standards in higher music education within the Nordic and Baltic countries. The Nordic and Baltic academies, colleges and schools of higher education in music are members of the association.  ANMA provides a forum for consideration of common issues concerning higher education in music and provides a coordinating body for Nordic/Baltic cooperation projects.
The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg has currently the secretariat of ANMA.

European Opera Academy
European Opera Academy, EOA, is an ambitious European platform of music academies that exchange best practices in music theatre and opera education for young professionals. The European Opera is responding to new developments in music theatre by offering various modules at selected academies of music throughout Europe. This entrepreneurial platform is a meeting point for international benchmarking in professional opera and music theatre education, taking into account the personal needs and talents of each individual student.

NordOpera
The overall goal of the network is to develop Nordic/Baltic opera education and to create a platform for exchange of knowledge and experience for students and teachers, and also learn from the opera professionals. Activities include mobility (student and teacher), intensive projects, curriculum development, network and other activities.

NordClassic
The NordClassic network was established in 1988 and was the first network within higher music education in the Nordic countries under the NORDPLUS program. Today the network consists of 30 higher music education institutions offering different study programs ranging from bachelor to PhD level. The aim of the Sibelius network is to strengthen Nordic/Baltic higher music education within the field of classical music.
