Stockholm University of the Arts, SKH, provides education and conducts research in the fields of circus, dance, film and media, opera, and theatre. Through our pioneering educational environment and innovative research, we aim to empower the role of the arts in society.

    • History

      SKH’s roots go back to the time of 18th-century king Gustav III. Here you will learn about the elements that, through centuries of changing cultural policies and new ideas, have come together in what is today SKH. There are also pictures from our history.

      Visions and strategies

      This page gathers information that in various ways describe the visions and strategies of SKH. Here, you'll find pages on our strategic plan, on sustainable development, on equal-term education and on widening participation.

      Organisation

      On these pages you will find information on the different functions of the SKH organisational structure. There are links to individual decision-making bodies and an organisational chart to understand the level at which different types of decisions are made.

      Premises

      SKH has three geographical locations in Östermalm and Gärdet in Stockholm. Here is general information about our premises, accessibility, sustainability issues and security. You will also find links to more specific information about the three separate units.

      International cooperation

      International cooperation is an important part of education and research at SKH. Through an active dialogue with external partners and close cooperation with universities around the world, we strengthen the quality of our education and research and give students and staff the possibility to develop.

      Quality Enhancement Work

      These web pages are primarily aimed at the staff of Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) and are intended as a support for quality enhancement work. The quality enhancement web pages are also aimed at students and other interested parties. These pages are updated on an ongoing basis.

      Collaboration

      Stockholm University of the Arts conducts research, education and collaboration with various stakeholders and actors in society. Collaboration is a high priority for the University and is guided by its overall goals and visions.

    • SKH in a turbulent world

      Ongoing wars and conflicts in the world can cause concern among both students and staff. SKH's position in relation to conflicts and events may be questioned.

  • SKH is turning ten

    SKH is celebrating ten years as a university college in 2024, and we'll be filling the year with retrospection, foresight, articles and events that connect to the decennial in various ways.
  • Some of the education has been co-financed with funds attributable to the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). For more detailed information on the RRF, please refer to the government's recovery plan.
